Freelancers,

Thanks for participating in my logo contest. We are really excited to renew our brand and corporate image. We just bought the business last year after a 20 year history with the previous owner, its time for a fresh start.

We operate a lawn and garden equipment company. We specialize in small engine machinery such as lawn mowers, chain saws, snow blowers, pellet stoves, and small tractors. We do sales and service and cary many top name brands and accessories. Our company is called "Ferguson Equipment".

I am looking for a logo/identity to replace the current design. Historically, the company has identified with a cartoon guy that looks like Luigi from Mario brothers(nintendo). He needs an update if we are going to keep him, but also want to modernize our logo/imagery.

We use the image on our truck and our website and would probably use it on all of the stuff we do if we had a better quality brand image to work with.

I will post some images that we have used historically. DO NOT NEED TO KEEP THESE IMAGES. We are OPEN TO CHANGING THEM UP. But just for interest I will post them as "history- ...."

I will also post files that are the products that we sell and their associated brands. I will name these "products- ........." or "brands- ........."

Finally I will post some inspiration that we have been thinking about over the past little while. You can choose to incorporate or not to incorporate this inspiration into your designs. We really want something that will be strong to stand on its own. Whether it is the logo and word mark or just the logo, we want people to recognize it and associate it to us.

They know that we do lawns, trees, snow, most if not all outdoor around the house stuff. Most people don't know about our pellet/wood stove products so thats one area we would like to expand in the future. We want to be recognized as the specialty equipment retailer but remembered as the best place to shop and service equipment in town!

Concept 2 ) See the Hyundai stylized car silhoette branding imagery. We like this the most. If you could do a simple, yet modern, futuristic yet sleek version of a lawnmower and incorporate it into our brand / logo similar to the way they have done with the Hyundai 40 yr pic that I added to the photo library, that would be awesome. We want it to be recognizable that it is a mower / chain saw but still simple enough to be really classy.

Concept 1 ) Check out the Chain saw bars that I have attached pictures of. Instead of the chainsaw brand on the bar, put our logo on there. The styles I've seen are very good and would work great. We want people to recognize that it is a chainsaw.

Hey everyone, I know that many of you have used a circular blade in your design. I wanted to take a few minutes to give you all some feedback. We do not deal much with circular blades or sprockets. We sell chainsaws and lawn mowers, so if you could try to incorporate those blades or machines into your designs that would be great. Here is another couple of concepts for you........

Thanks everyone. Coming to the last few hours of the contest! We will be picking the winner and it really helps if you provide us with the best mascot possible. We don't want him too cartoon, but not too reality either. He needs to be cool, smart, good all round guy to do business with. It would be great if you kept the theme of the landscaper but a smart woodsman/ tree caller works too. Maybe he wears multiple hats....for the different professions he caters too.
